This IS Snow Country.

I couldn't help but laugh at this new Snowshoe promo video. Makes the place seem like an Epic ski area, only worthy of the Gods.

David,
We all see things differently. For the last three years I have taken my entire family, including Grandkids (total of 14 folks) to SS for an extended long weekend. During this time my grandkids (ages 9. 7, 5, 5, 4, 4, and 2+) have learned to ski (youngest starts this year) and developed a real passion for the sport. They enjoy the uniqueness of the resort, like their instructors, shed some shyness, are really proud of what they accomplish, and enjoy other events such as horse pulled sled rides, etc. Somehow we all manage to fit into each others busy schedule and job schedules for this special time.
Someday, hopefully, you will understand what I am writing about. Snowshoe fits the bill perfectly at this time in our lives!

Snowshoe is part of the Intrawest "brand". The post The Colonel started about the free season pass with 5 day rental mentions that this also entitles one to discounts on lift tickets and lodging at other Intrawest resorts. Snowshoe is not selling skiing, they are selling the Intrawest experience. I think that for novice skiers Snowshoe offers more terrain than all the other WV ski areas combined, but David you are right eveyone knows the Gods prefer Timberline grin .

Vail Resorts just bought the operation at Northstar/Tahoe; i'm wondering how branding and cross promotion, Boyne, Intrawest, Vail and all will affect the ski industry over the next ten years?

Colonel, I was really trying to bash Snowshoe. I believe it's by far the best resort in WV as far as catering to families who are looking for a true ski destination (assuming you've got the cash). To me though, the video just didn't really fit. Over the past few weeks they've been putting up snowmaking videos and such. And then they put this one up that makes it seem like the season is wrapping and things went great this year. Just fairly random IMHO.
