The conditions were fantastic on Forest 80 - but that's about it. From Timberline's Governor's Turn: 1 mile of somewhat bare rocks, until you reached Forest Road 80.
2 miles down 80 was fast and furious, still with plenty of powder on the sides. Once you got on Timberline's access road to the pump house / graveyard / Winterhaven, well, it wasn't so good!
Bottom line: looks so promissing, but snowshoers have somewhat distroyed the snow this time around.
Good news? Plenty of snow on the way to fix all of that.

Is that a cross country or a downhill run you are describing?

XC skiing - with a nice downhill in the middle.
Starts at Timberline, goes up salamander ski trail, getting off and hitting Forest 80 Access, Continuing on with Forest 80 Road (the downhill part), back down: flat ground for 2 miles back to Timberline. It's a nice loop, but don't do it today. Wait another 24 hours - 'til after the storm.
The coverage was a little thin at places.

no problem... there are many other "loops" in the area.
Here's a direct link to the above loop - minus the White Grass area that is thin on the access: http://www.visitcanaan.com/tline-wg-tline.jpg
