...50 + inches of snow in the valley so far and it's only mid Dec...snow everywhere up here!!! true winter wonderland in the highlands...temps are looking to be cold for the next few weeks and should allow for good snow making conditions to get 100% terrain open by early Jan at the lift served areas...t-line is having a historic opening with lots of terrain open, skiable woods, and still no crowds at all, the surface at timberline was excellent yesterday...I made several runs down lightning yesterday where I was the only one on the slope...it is snowing again this morning and snow is in the forecast all week...if you are looking for a great skiing surface, some powder skiing off piste, and no crowds at all then head up to the valley this week before the holiday crowds...

Concur. Best mid-December conditions in the 9 years I've been visiting Tline. Skied this morning--wonderful conditions on all open trails. Cold!

I'll be number three. Very nice month so far. More snow in WV than in most of New England.

Four days of skiing for me this December at Timberline. No complaints for December. More details to follow.

Hard to believe that this early season could be better than last year, but there it is. We did a bit of "base testing" on upper Almost Heaven and Thunderstruck on Friday, sweet soft deep. Sorry to miss happy hour Saturday. Long weekend on the road, Wheeling to canaan valley to arlington to wheeling to 7 springs to wheeling. Hey Otto, I've driven to vermont that's why i ski in west virginia .

It was terrific this past weekend. I plan on being back for thursday and then after picking up the Mrs on Friday, plan on being there through the 1st. Problem is the Pub will get crowded at the 4 o'clock line up by the 26th. I can't say epic conditions after last season, but it's the best opening I can remember since way back in 95.
