00z Models just came out and are depicting a DRASTIC change in the forecast! Our chances in the DC area over the last 10 hrs for 4-8 inches of the white stuff have increased dramatically and places near the coast (Ocean City) may get 1ft+!

I will give a Christmas morning update after time with the fam but wanted to give a heads up now for anyone traveling sunday-monday! This storm has been literally a nightmare for forecasters thanks to the models waffling and still could be a complete miss... we shall see!

-Also, check Captial Wx Gang for updates, they have been very good at providing a full analysis of the storm and using probability forecasts (tells you much more than a point forecast).

00Z GFS forecast:
(between 4-10 for the DC area and 12+ for areas east)

Awesome stuff! Looks like the storm is just getting wound up in the DC area.

Any thoughts on the pattern into early January? I see we're supposed to hit 50 in the Shenandoah Valley next weekend, ugh!
