wow the whole run I didnt see anyone on the chairs! enjoy your private resort!
Tucker was gone... getting that next chair!
...about 3 1/2 feet of snow in the last week in Canaan...still snowing...
Tucker, you have got to be kidding me.... I knew it would be good, but what I saw was.....EPIC for the mid atlantic. is that total include the 20+ from last weekend?
...yeah that's a 7 day total...today was fantastic as well...I made several turns without touchin' bottom, even a couple real face shots....the snowpack all over the valley is deep right now and the snowpack on the ridges is real deep...
off the charts powder skiing at wg today! so deep it was slow motion skiing until we got to baldy steeps and the funnel. i hear tline was awesome too...but.... its ski anywhere times....amos bowl?..dials glades?...nope...im breaking my mount porte crayon cherry tomorrow...woohoo!
Bring an old Ski with ya chaga & make a 4700' stake up on the nearly 4800' MPC....& don't get Shot! (private Prop)...I'm jealous..
JohnL and I skied CVR yesterday. We had the place to ourselves. Fresh tracks all day long. The only tracks we crossed were our own. I'll try and do a TR later today, I took a couple of pictures.
Same for Snowshoe = empty. Makes you wonder how a place can stay in business with no customers!
You do pay a bit extra at Canaan Valley Resort to not have dogs chasing you when you ski.
Skiing one night at Tline (NO ONE there), saw two big black St. Bernards further down. Now: 1)ski fast past them and hope the don't go for the chase or 2) ski slow past them??? Asked the liftie why owners were allowed to let their dogs roam free on the slopes. He said: "those weren't St. Bernards...they were 2 bear! True LOL LOL Nature - anyone ever smell skunks while riding the lift up???
Talked to a bear hunter Friday PM; there are bear dens up there. Something to remember when you bushwack! Glad SCWVA didn't fall in a certain rocky section last year...

All the time, bears on the trails are certainly a good reason to have a safety meeting but the skunks usually scare the bear.
Congrats Jimmie on making it through another year...may there be many more!
