Good day for a ride.
February 4, 2011
While JohnL (aka Richard Head) was riding on plane to Utah this afternoon, I had to find something to do with this warm weather. It actually turned out to be a decent day (despite the wind) for a mtn bike ride. Didn't take any pictures, but this is where I went and what I did. Wasn't very long, but was definitely good to get a little pedaling in. Hopefully some others got out and enjoyed the nice day.

Look like a great ride! I almost broke out my road bike yesterday... we hit 63 with sunny skies in Harrisonburg yesterday!
David,
Did you ride off road?
I also went for a quick hour and half ride on the W&OD, mostly snow covered with tire tracks full of slushy water. On the way back, everything had started to freeze up. Lots of fun, hadn't been on the bike for a while. I'm going for a ride in the am, hopefully everything freezes up hard tonight. Maybe even some freshies come morning?
Yeah, the trails down here in the Greenbrier State Forest were completely clear of any snow/ice. Probably because while everyone else was getting hammered last week this side of Greenbrier County got no more than 1". Other than the leaves, the trails were actually in really good shape. There was only one short steep climb that I didn't make that I normally can. It started getting cold by the end of the evening.
Abe, a few buddies here got in 2-3 days this past week on their road bikes. I have the cold weather gear, but I just don't have the desire to sit on a cold seat with cold air blowing on me for 2 hours. Come April I will, but right now it's still ski season!
