The warm rains of the past week gave rise to some of the more common rites of spring.... higher incidents of skunk road kill and the resulting pungent aroma. The growth of spring corn, mashed potatoes, and sugar. And once again "dirt chicken" season is upon us! Why, I believe it was Jimmy who had the first sighting of one of the mud coated creatures just this past Saturday at t-line. laugh laugh laugh

No wonder he left early on Sunday. Rode out of town under the cover of darkness.

Heh, heh.... wink you ever watch beginners, in the spring, skiing too close to the edge of a trail? If they make the wrong move, they end up skiing mud, which, as a consequence of suction on the ski, causes them to yard sale into said mud. shocked
Hence, the term dirt chicken. grin laugh It's especially fun to watch and especially if they are wearing white pants..... well, it looks like they fell into chicken sh#*. smirk

Yeah that's pretty much it; I looked but could not find the picture David posted of one from early this season at timberline.

Denis,

Dirt chickens are represented across the entire skiing population, not just newbies...
