Skied there tonight, and virtually had the place to ourselves. The rain looks like it hit hard, and the guy working the gear check/basket rental in the locker area said that it looks like they're done after this weekend.

Conditions overall were better than expected. There's a lot of "loose granular" to be had, but things weren't too scraped off. There was NO lift line at all, and probably only 25-30 people on the mountain all night (maybe more in the packs of snowboarders and jibbers who were gamely trying to make the best of the terrain park on the front side).

It was really sad to think that this is the end of the season. Life has conspired to make this the least-skiing-filled season of the last 5 years. I hold hope that I might be able to escape north at some point in the next 4-6 weeks (if they keep getting storms like this last one, "winter" could go on for a good while longer up in Maine and Vermont), but it's not looking likely...

Unfortunately, only diehards like us show up this time of year and they can't make much money off of us. Look at the mid-week slope cams and you will see empty slopes. If only we could get paid for skiing.....
That said, we were blessed this year with fantastic conditions. I really can't complain. I will be going to Stowe on Saturday for the week. Long range weather forcasts look pretty good.
