I took advantage of their "White Friday Sale" earlier this year by purchasing their 2 nights lodging, 2 day skiing special. Unfortunately, it seemed that every time we try to go, the weather hasn't cooperated. Seeing that the weather has gotten warmer, has anyone skied 7Springs lately? If so, how are the conditions with the rain? Any inside information on when their closing date is?

Any and all advice are welcomed and appreciated. I hope we luck out and have a great Saturday - Monday skiing 7 Springs.

Tentative schedule is daily operations until Sunday March 20. Possibly reopen March 26/27 (See the website).

Was there Thursday 3/3 and Monday/Tuesday 3/7-8. Base has held up well in snow-making areas. Most everything has been groomed flat/granular. Very nice surface that held up well, especially on Thursday and Monday. Alpine Meadows, Sunset, Avalanche and North Face were especially nice. There were a lot of people there Tuesday (for a weekday)...a lot of PSU spring breakers' who came the extra distance because Blue Knob was closed for some reason (Monday/Thursday). Backside high-speed slopes were a little skied out by 1. Front face was wonderful all day.

I can't tell you how things have weathered the last 2 days of rain but it still looks remarkably well covered on the cams. Saturday looks iffy (more rain). Sunday/Monday/Tuesday look like the best bets. I would think you will have nice spring conditions (despite the lack of that magic HV snow that doesn't turn to ice after absorbing 2" of rain and freezing :-) ) and manageable crowds.

Thanks RobertW for your update. Glad you found 7springs to be in good shape when you went.

I just got back from our trip and unfortunately for us, the conditions didn't hold up as well. We arrived on Saturday night and skied about 2 hours before calling it a day. There were a lot of bare spots, and a number of lifts not running (to cut costs I presume). I was also puzzled to see the amount of snow they have for their Superpipe but the coverage to be spotty throughout the resort. They also cut their hours back on Sunday and closed at 4 pm. This may be par for the course, but only 3 lifts were running today and they are also closing the lifts at 4 pm. I understand that the weather hasn't been the best for the ski resorts in the mid-Atlantic, but it kind of screws the customers who are skiing in mid-March. I am a big fan of 7Springs, but it seems to be that their decision to cut costs and putting all that time, money, and snow for their Superpipe alienates the skiers/boarders that put them on the map. Sure it makes for great advertising when you can say you have the best terrain park in the mid-Atlantic. But what about the people who actually want to ski/ride? Where were those improvements?

I normally hate to bash a ski resort, and I also didn't want to add to the constant complaints about 7springs on this forum. However, after my stay this past weekend at 7springs, I came away a little disappointed at what they were able to provide.

Looks like yesterday was it for the Springs. I also can't help but think if they would have put half of the snow they put into the three parks on the slopes they would still be open. The pond skim and final Spot fling is this Saturday. I have heard some unofficial rumblings that two lifts have big issues which is why they haven't been running all the lifts the last few weekends. Anyone else hear any Springs lift rumblings?
