WTG has a lot more snow left than is typical for this time of year. It's spring conditions of course, but the base is in good shape over a lot of terrain. Much better than I would have expected with all the recent mild weather and rain.
Yeah Timberline was awesome this morning, you could even ride some of the trees if we got any powder. Though that doesn't look like it's going to happen.
CV looked like it had plenty of snow on Sunday. I'm guessing they're closing due to lack of customers. With the T-Line having the Snowy Luau this upcoming weekend, they'd be capturing most of the visitors to the valley.

Thanks for the note - when were you last at WTG? I'm thinking of heading up tomorrow (3/17) morning for a 1/2 day.
Springs is done as of yesterday. Does anyone know if T-line will be open for this weekend? Was at Holiday Valley Saturday and Sunday and the slope are very good almost all the blues and blacks are open and in good shape. Only problem was due to lack of skiers they are not running all the lifts every day.
Yeah I figured...I really do need some sort of touring set up.
madshus epochs with garmont excursion boots is such an amazing setup you should check out. light enough for lots of uphill, no skins to fuss with, total turnability and control on the downs. and contrary to popular belief, you don't have to do tele turns just because you have tele bindings, you just can if you want to
Lifts won't be running here at T-Line, but Wisp has their park open this weekend, Springs has the pond skim and I think the front side will be open, Big Boulder will be 100% open, but if you happen to go to the skisoutheast website there is a big picture saying all resorts in the South and Mid-Atlantic are closed for the season. What are horrible, biased and innacurate site, I guess if they can't get free lift tickets they consider a resort closed.
Lots of good skiing to be had if you're willing to work for it.
yes! skiing up with ski's on really isn't that much work and is really great exercise and it makes the turns twice as sweet for some reason. (maybe 30minutes to the top?) I can't speak for Chippy, but I'll bet if you need gear for this weekend and email or call, he will take care of you and may even make you ski with the powder posse and meet new friends
