Brief report:
I just got back from Timberline's Snowy Luau Weekend...had a wonderful time! Great snow, good DCSki friends(approx.10+/-), lots of events, spectacular torch parade Sat. evening-with Hawaian drums beating-and fireworks overhead. Large crowd for the show! I found my ski legs!!! every major trail open with fantastic side to side coverage, not too cold, nor real warm...just about right. Lots of pictures to come from multiple DCSki cameras.
Really a great weekend, if you missed it make plans for next March. I mean it really was a "WOW" of a ski weekend!!!!!!!

Today was the best day of skiing I've had since the last time I was in "the valley", about a year ago... Good times. Thanks Jim for driving me out there and John for driving me back. Check your cars for my lost phone frown.

Sounded like a blast. To bad I missed it (was at Massanutten to help close it out for the season).

Not as good as the photos Jimk posted on the other thread, but here's some I took;

Supermoon setting over the Blue Ridge in Virginia, Sunday morning. I would have needed a tripod and/or a better camera to get the shot, but you get the idea.

Seasons changing. Lots of roadies sighted riding the big hills on route 55

Rod, that first shot of the moon at perigee captures the special quality it had that morning - beautiful. We got to watch that moon for about the first hour of our drive to the Valley, unforgettable.
Nice shot of Marcus, he and JohnL have the uncanny ability to move through the biggest bumps like they aren't there.

I commuted home by bike this evening from WNY for the first time. What a lot of hills! Took me 70 minutes. To think you did that hilly ride, but considerably longer at the beginning and end of the long day trip we made to T-Line is a great feat of endurance. You are Ironman! eek

Rod - You commuted before & after skiing on Sunday? If so, you're the man. Legs probably felt pretty good come Monday am, but I'm sure they had to be a bit tight.

Where is WNY?

My legs hurt real bad for two days. Sunday was my first day of Telemark skiing since last March.
