So which ski areas on the East Coast are going to be open after this weekend?

I believe Sugarbush & Jay Peak will be open through next weekend. Anyone else?

Saddleback plans to be open weekends into May. Sugarloaf and Killington should also be open for a while.

Woody

PS Belleayre has announced that it will open for the 2011-12 season on November 12.

C'mon Denis, you know that's what you really meant to post.

I'm fine with the idea. I just don't want to be a planner or coordinator. I tend to plan at the last minute and just do it. I'll announce my plans on DCSki when I make them. I no longer do Tucks. Too much work to get there and too crazy with falling ice and falling idiots. Every serious skier should do it once for the experience and the memory. I've done it a dozen times. Now I wait for the Auto Road to open in late May. Check the status here; http://mtwashingtonautoroad.blogspot.com/
I ski the summit snowfields, a few hundred feet from the road and easy skiing, 500 - 700 vertical feet with roughly the pitch of the steepest part of Off the Wall. More demanding runs are 1/2 mile hike down the Gulfside Trail to the Great Gulf. All the gullies there are longer than Tucks and the scariest ones are in at least the same league as Tucks. Relatively few know about them and those who do know what they are doing. They lack the Doofus factor of Tucks.

If I am there at the same time as DC Skiers I'd be very happy to meet at day's end for a tailgate or dinner, and also to offer advice for what it's worth even if we wind up skiing different parts of the mountain.

Is Tline still skiable?

Mt. Washington has been on my bucket list for a long time. Maybe this is the year.
