I did not know Dutch and never attended a Fagowees activity, but have known of the club all of my years of local skiing, which started around same time as the club. They are a legendarily hard partying ski bunch.

Interesting to read that he founded the club in '66 while working at the DC Hecht Company ski shop. I believe I visited that shop a few times back then, but have it mixed-up in my mind with the ski shop Hechinger's maintained in their store near Tenley Circle.

He started the Hecht's ski shop, not just worked there.

I rented from there. I skied better than ever before on that gear.
