Accuweather and This Winter
August 23, 2011
Initial call by Accuweather for the mid-Atlantic mountains is for cold and snowy this winter! No, this is Henry not Joe B.
The Colonel
I literally cannot explain how desperately I want (or need?) to see mountains and/or snow right now.
We are due for a subpar year though..think about all the deep stuff we have enjoyed lately.
We have had 9 years of above ave snows in Canaan...one more??!!!
I went diving for Scallops out in the gulf of Mex in Florida & I actually got hot in the water after awhile...i'm with ya scootertig!.....The Springs were nice & cool though...
This is exicting news. I hope their prediction is acurate and we see another 230+ inch winter. Snow early and snow often!
The weather up in Canaan has been crazy this summer. We average anywhere from 55-65 inches of precip a year according to noaa studies....this year canaan heights is recording 53 inches already! Someone was telling me the other day they saw that we were in the top 5 in precip in the US so far this year...don't know about that though?
Global Wetening!
walking into the high woods up at Canaan remind me of the Very wet "casper the Ghost enchanted forest" type envirement I experienced out in the Cascades of the upper NW...
Old man winter is shaking off his big sleep in the Arctic!
The weather witch says it gonna start early and be above average snow fall.
Supposed to get down to 43 here tonight. We will see 52 right now.
I had 36 F on one thermometer and 38 on another this morning at 6 AM when I went to work this morning on the valley floor...I also started my morning cleaning up my site after a Bear got into my dump trailer....we actually chased him out of the backyard of the house...he was about a buck-15/buck-30...no more lunch trash in the trailer on that site I guess.
