Keep the faith Bob. We had a hot summer in the DC area, but the worst seems over. July was the hottest month on record. Avg daily high temp was 93.6 degs. Two different nights set all-time new record for warmest low temp at 84 degs. We had a few 100 deg days during July with high humidity that were exceptionally nasty.

But I heard we got off easy compared to TEXAS where Mother Nature reeled off 40 straight days of 100+ degree days this summer? eek
I would imagine that kind of heat makes you appreciate winter all the more?

Well Jim, it's averaged about 104.? over the last 45 days, and set the record for the highest low ever two nights ago: 88 degrees.

As bad as it is, 1980 was worse with an average of about 107 for the same 45 days.
