It wasn't serious snow making. It was more of a test of the system to make sure that everything works.

I'm in Breckenridge working on the condo, and it certainly was cold enough to make snow -- 30 degrees both yesterday morning and this morning.

I was up in Keystone this week. You might get 30 in the morning but way too hot in the afternoons. No snow even at 12k elevation, just a dusting on the top of mt Gray. Good luck though we all hate you right about now :-)

The race is on. From the A-Basin blog "We're making snow!
The snow guns were turned on at around 4:00pm today. The race has begun!"

That's a first. Wof Creek Beating both A-Basin and Loveland in being first to open.. The storm that rolled through yesterday apparently covered 'em up.

The snow report says 36 inches of fresh on the ground -- a typical Wolf Creek blizzard - just a little unusual for October 6!

They plan to be open this weekend, and will decide this weekend whether or not to stay open for the rest of the month/season.

It will miss by one day being the earliest opening day in the history of the sport. Two years ago Loveland opened on October 7.

Both Loveland and A-Basin are blowing snow right now, too.
