Does Timberline offer any kind of preseason discount purchase? Or is that another Timberline business decision mystery? I'm thinking either preseason ticket sales - like the Wisp white sale day, or the recent Smuggs deal on vermontopia - or some sort of loyalty/discount card, like the Advantage cards.

Tucker, clean-up on aisle three...

Early season discount on Season Passes is all that I'm aware of, but everything else has been off my radar for a bit.

Don't know about the preseason thing, but Believe they lower the price of tickets at the window in late season by $5-10, but implementation is last second and they don't publicize it much. Believe it's usually in effect that last couple of weeks (in March) before they close for the season.
JohnL or others, correct me if wrong about this.

Good place to post up the ski area discount deals.

Ones that I know about and have used are the famous "snow day/school off" 1/2 price tickets at CVR, who does not love 50% off a POWDER day and the "Monday canned goods discount" also at CRV. Not sure if these are good at Tline.

Timberline actually does publish all of this stuff, it's on their site under the link Mountain -> Lift Tickets & Rates

Here is the PDF: http://www.timberlineresort.com/files/2010-2011-Rates.pdf

It hasn't been updated for 2011/2012 but it shows the dates of early and late season and the corresponding rates. Maybe they drop the rates even lower later in the season if that's what JimK is referring to.

Good post pghndt. Early/Late season rates at top of page two of the link you posted is what I was thinking about.
$34 adult/one day, $58 adult/two day through Christmas day, and from 3/7/11 until closing. Presumably, they'll have similar pricing for this season:

Late season starting 3/7 or so is a good deal, given how much snow will hopefully still be there. I was hoping more for something where we pay a little now, which gives them early-season cash, and get discount tickets later.

You probably know this, but in recent years there have been great discounts for Canaan Valley ski area on Liftopia.
