I can't remember a season starting so late. Not being open for Christmas week would be a disaster...has it ever been this bad at Whitetail?

..wasn't open Christmas week about 5 years ago (06/07?). If I recall, it had opened earlier, then closed. Wasn't until early January that it came back up. Although my mind may be a bit fuzzy.

Weather is a fickle you know what.

06/07 was a bad year. I recall Wisp not having the East Face open MLK weekend that season. But there must of been other years that were worse.

..to that end, I recall MLK weekend of 06/07 being re-opened but devoid of any crowds. The condos next to Northern Lights were largely empty. A lot of mud. But season still came through for a few weeks in February/early March.

We've grown quite spoiled the last few years.

Back in I think it was 87-88 ????... The winter started out with record cold and heavy snow in Virginia. By mid February most ski areas were closing shop. We had reservations at the shoe in early March and they cancelled due to warm and mush. The past two years spoiled us.

Massanutten closed in January for the season in 89/90.

Winter will arrive as it always does.

This is great biking weather.

Thanks for the correction. I knew it was sometime around then.
