I did a tour of those areas that have Web cams and ones that were open this past weekend are either closed, close to closing, or nobody wants to ski in the rain. Even went so far as to look at Sugar and it look like brown sugar. This is the type of season where t-lines snowmaking philosophy will make them some green when other places have to roll up the carpet. Brown sure can't make green.

This is shaping up to be one of the worst holiday weekends in the last ten years.

Weather reports seem to be conflicting with Inaccuweather report warm temps next week while the NWS is predicting snow this weekend. Weather channel has a completely different forcast altogether. Skiing Weatherman has dissappeared from SnoCountry.com. Where does a skier get a decent dependable weather forcast?
I looked at 7Springs webcam and their man made snow pack is disappearing quickly. HV is still holding up but tomorrow they're supposed to get an inch of rain.

I am going house hunting in Park City in late February and my wife and I are considering retirement there. Actually the real estate is in the same price range as the Baltimore area in many cases ( of course not at Deer Valley) and you have 15 ski areas within a 2 hour drive. I am getting discouraged by east coast weather. If I don't do this soon, I'll be skiing in heaven (or hell ...perhaps the Mid-Atlantic).

Mr. Fishnski - I wish I could say you are wrong and we will get a Christmas snow storm but in this case I would say you are 95.999999999999999999999% correct, unfortunately.
Can you please tell me when this crappy pattern will change. The people in Texas don't need snow...they don't even have any ski areas!

I like your forcasts. Please provide them on a regular basis. You do a better job than Accuweather!...and they get paid for doing this.

I plan to do my part tonight. I will drink to Ullr, norse god of skiing and snow! Some make think it blasphemous in this Xmas season, but am pretty sure God will understand and forgive. I may also write a letter to Santa just to keep all my bases covered. Now that I think about it I should probably offer up more then one beer to Ullr.

Hmm, just don't get it wrong because if God deems it blasphemous we might not get any snow all winter.
