The conditions were in a word, variable. Saturday had great spring-like conditions over all the open trails. There are currently a choice of four top to bottom routes to the base giving every skier an opportunity to have what thay want. Salamander for novices, dew and heaven for intermediates and lightening and OTW for advanced.
I skied them all on Saturday and again on Sunday with friends and locals. The variable label was due to the "firming" up of surfaces from Saturday to Sunday. Spring-like went to "firm and fast" with a sugar coating on Sunday. Once the weather gets cold they are poised to make snow on upper and lower thunder as well as the drop. There's still guns on lightening and salamander too. Oh BTW, they worked all day yesterday on the lower terrain park with rails, slides and jumps so that should be open today or tomorrow. Actually, it was some damn fine skiing considering how the non-winter has gone.
