Sorry if this has been covered already, but my less than stellar search skills didn't return any answers. I'm going to head down mid week with my 2 boys (8 and 11) and am looking for a decent place to stay near Snowshoe that won't cost me an arm and a leg. B&B, motel, hotel, whatever works, but not too far from the slopes if possible.

Thanks much

There is a nice motel in Cass -- 20 min drive to the top of mountain.
http://www.bearcreekwv.com/web/ ($89 per night on the weekend, $69 weekday)

I stayed there a few times and the room is nice and quite new.

Also the Elk River Inn

There are some rental units at the base of the mountain:

You can also try Inn at Snowshoe but I think it 's a bit more expensive.

Those are among the least expensive options I found for Snowshoe.

I know a bunch of folks (myself included) that offer some pretty low mid week rates on their condos at Mountain Lodge.

If you'd rather not deal with driving up and down the mountain each day and have a ski in - out location, it may be worth a few emails / phone calls.

Try http://go2snowshoe.com http://go2snowshoe.com for a list of units for rent.

Thanks for the help. That's great stuff there.

Don, I checked and you are full the nights I was looking. Thanks for the shameless plug, though.

Hopefully, one of the other guys can help you out.

Mtn Lodge is not the Ritz, but all those listed are nice clean condos.
