Sad and sobering. Let's all be careful out there. My condolences to the family.

I was at Seven Springs, PA when that death occurred. The thing is, there is NO SNOW anywhere except on the places where the guns have made it. Reports, and I know he truth is often not newsworthy, suggest that the guy headed off trail at speed and was a good skier. If that is really true I have no Idea what he was thinking. The man is not here to explain himself so I will not say anything stronger.

It hit 55 degrees on the slopes and when we got home to No VA yesterday it was 68. Spring skiing is great but you have to realize that you are canniballizing the snow, and there was very little of it to begin with.

The way I read the story it sounds like he probably caught an edge and went off the trail and into the woods where he hit his head on some exposed rocks. Didn't sound like he purposely tried to ski off the main trail.

How sad to hear about.

I didn't see in the article anything about whether he was wearing a helmet.
