Please post Whitetail and Liberty conditions. I am taking a snow day tomorrow with my boy.

I have a Blue with White Northface jacket and a Lion's hat if anyone sees me. Wouldn't mind meeting face-to-face any DC Skiers.

Up at Whitetail all day instructing and took a few free runs in the evening.

It started snowing about 11AM and was still going when I left at 9 PM. The conditions were great off the expert quad, especially Bold Decision. Snowdancer and Fanciful were also in good shape. Angel Drop was to say the least by the end of the night..rocky. I would imagine that the groomer covered them up but since this is a gateway trail to the park a lot of snowboarders really plow off the snow . I didn't get to go up today but looks like it is still snowing, conditions should be great today!

the snow at liberty sucked today. it was like skiing through wet sugar. slushy and thin, and bad bottlenecks in the expected spots, even though it wasn't particularly crowded.

I have the opportunity to knock off work early, about 11ish and get in some weekday skiing this afternoon. Should I head to Whitetail or Liberty? Will it even be worth skiing this afternoon with temps in the mid to upper 40s? It looks like Liberty made a little snow last night and the webcams this morning showed the guns on but Whitetail has a better base and 50% more vertical drop. I am leaning towards Whitetail. (I've skied there a few times but never been to Liberty)

The snow conditions at t-line were surprisingly good yesterday. The 2" of fresh mixed in to solidify the thick sugar of Saturday. A little scraped off, but plenty of soft along the edges.

There's going to be a USSA race there next weekend. Hope all those kiddies have their skis sharpened.

Wisp was fantastic, their investment in snowmaking has paid off this season. about 75% of trails were open this weekend, a little icy in a few spots, but overall decent. It looks like they'll be pumping out snow every night this week too. Check out their web cams, it might be ther better snow in the region right now.

Conditions at the 'tail. It wasn't fresh powdah, it was more like a good clam chowdah. Got in about 20 runs in 3 and a half hours.

Very soft heavy snow, some rocks and dirt starting to show through :-( Had a wonderful time though. They are gonna need some cold weather soon as some of the trails are getting narrower quickly. Can't imagine there is a significant difference at Liberty.

Crowds were light, staff friendly as usual. Always a good time at the 'tail. I think they need to hire me as a spokes model.
