We usually like to take a mid-late season trip , somewhat close and stay a long weekend. We havent booked anything this year but now the wife/kids are bugging me to do so even though it's been obvious that snow is as foreign to us as it is to Texans.

So I'm wondering, how much risk would I really be undertaking if I were to schedule something for the 2nd weekend in March? We are targeting for 7 Springs, a condo on the village trail

I'm not a weather guru, but so far the forecast seems to change drastically, even daily - so long range at least on accuweather.com or other sites seems rather useless to look at.

The biggest fear is a weekend of RAIN or, weeks heading up to that point ending up warm/rain resulting in closed trails.

We plan on renting a condo on the village trail at 7springs, notoriously, this slope is closed rather early in the late season..

guess I'm hoping for a miracle.

Seems like this is a perfect season for waiting for last second deals. But you have to weigh that against family harmony, if your family wants something certain in advance.

How /determined/ are you on 7springs? Snowshoe and Canaan need to be considered.
