t-line still blowin snow feb 26
March 5, 2012
Props to t-line for still blowin snow past presidents day! looks like they are going full blast this morning...
And a shout out to Snowshoe, Seven Springs, Wintergreen, and others that are still making snow for us to slip on in March!
The Colonel
So how much damage was done to Tline today by the rain? It was raining hard this am in McHenry, but at least it was in the lower 30's. I'm thinking about skiing tomorrow afternoon and wanted to make sure BS wasn't bored and decided to take the groomer to OTW.
Anyone want to do some laps on Thursday?
...man..still rainin hard..I'll be interested to see the #'s tomorrow...boaters are stoked, every bit of 1"+ for sure...it ain't gonna set up so it should be nice and soft for surface tomorrow for sure...pretty sure OTW still bumpy but don't know for sure...I was drinkin beer with B this evenin', so I know they didn't push anything tongiht but didn't even bother to ask if OTW was still bumpy or not...t-line actually closed this afternoon because of lightining, heavy rain, and winds....listen' to thunder and heavy rain on the metal roof as I type...hate to say it,,,but if it was cold enough to snow, it would be deep tom......
holy moly... 2.4" of rain on the davis gauge!! I would be shocked if twister survived at tline. Big rocks were washed out of the ditch on the cortland switchback and the Blackwater river just crested at 2000 cfs! gonna have to stop by the falls this morn..they should..they WILL be earth shaking!
Chaga, do you know what's up???...is Lesher done now?...went to check his site this morning to see how much rain we got and could not get on it...
I know he was planning on shutting down his site at the beginning of the year then said he would wait till the end of the snow season, but said he would have the data available via other outlets. I sent him an email yesterday about it and asking for at least a pdf or spreadsheet with the data from this year for the wg website.
for some reason I recall him saying a while back that he was going to be de-listed as an offical nws station, so maybe that has something to do with it.

twister actually was still open and not bad at all, btw. And as for the falls...

Exactly!!! If folks don't care if these resorts close early and make no effort to stay open in March then put your skis away in the attic and start talking about next season...if folks want resorts to stay open in March then reward the ones that do by GO SKIING THEM AND BUYING A MEAL, A BEER, MAYBE ANOTHER BEER,...put your money where your mouth is!!!
Seven Springs was blowing snow today too. My entire family will be spending next week in the Valley skiing T-line including Saturday and the beginning of the Luau. I hope to see you all there.
I was surprised yesterday when I woke up and saw guns puking snow up and down WL. The snowmaking windo should go thru Tuesday AM with a good mix of natural. They are serious about making it thru the end of season. Folks need to get out and enjoy the goods.
Luau is THE spring party in the mid atlantic. Hope everyone comes out and joins us for some fun. They are always looking for folks for the tourch light, too.
Davis 3 SE.. 2.6 (24 hour snow).. 24 (24hr max temp)... 16(24hr min temp) 7:00am 3/05
Canaan is a little too far north for the Clipper that is giving SS a nice snow but will still see some more snow today..
Looks like doc is taking care of mamma nats light work!
