First it is bad enough that Dave Lester has pulled the plug on his site Canaan Weather. It was the Gold Standard for prompt reporting of snowfall amounts, snow depths and weather conditions for Canaan Valley.

To add insult to injury, Chris Bailey is moving on from WSAZ. Announcement Even though the station was in Southwestern West Virginia and covered Eastern Kentucky, his blog did an excellent job of covering/predicting storms in Northern West Virginia.

We got whitegrass & Chaga's paper towel cam!...+..the more I ck out the big names in weather the more I feel comfortable just cking out the models myself..the same thing they are doing..& guessing & gambling like they do without the "Hype" factor for ratings. They all flip & flop.. make excuses..& cover themselves with genrealities Like the 6 to 14 f-casts..WTF?..either its a dump or its a routine snow!..Or the way they word f-casts so that many outcomes fit..feel me?..Mother nature is still ruling the roost & thats the way i like it..

There are some simple tricks to reading the models..especially when you get familiar with a certain area at a certain elevation + the man made brains factor in all the math for you now to figure out the snow amounts.

I don't need to go to the outback to get a steak..I can make one better!..the Talking head weather folks are just becoming a convenience IMHO....& believe me..if i can figure it out so can 99 percent of you!

So it sounds like you're volunteer to do prompt forecasting and splaining on each and every storm for the rest of us lazy folks? cool
