We are trying to get a handle on DCSki attendees at TLs Snowy Luau this weekend. Please copy the roll call part of the post prior to yours (with names, etc. )and add your name, days attending, place staying, etc.
STILL LOOKING FOR A REASONABLY PRICED PLACE TO STAY IN THE VALLEY, TRY THE CANAAN VALLEY LODGE, BUT ASK FOR A CABIN. THEY ARE HAVING A "BUY ONE-GET ONE FREE SPECIAL ON CABINS. THUS TWO NIGHTS FOR THE PRICE OF ONE!!

"There is potential for a good number of us DCSkiers to attend the Timberline Snowy Luau Weekend on 3/17 and 18. Starting this thread to facilitate meet-ups. Some of us will tie red ribbons to our ski poles to further aid with identification. The Colonel will be bringing more ribbons. Otherwise Hawaiian/St. Paddy's/spring skiing attire is appropriate. REMEMBER TO BRING SUN SCREEN!

Got the skinny for the weekend and beyond. Dew and twister are gone. They hope to keep others open throughout the weekend, but you know how that could go. It's a tribute to Amos and the t-line staff to have what they have after this non-winter.

Beyond luau.... resort will close monday through thursday, reopen for the final weekend. Probably only from mid station but they are trying to make it when nobody else will.

Local's cup on the 25th, with end of year festivities. I'll be there through the bitter and sloppy end cuz next December is a long wait.

LHC has been voted off the mountain. After deliberations this morning it was decided to pack up and head north. The family is tired and wishes to head home.

The Dad is OK with this as it will conserve funds for an early April trip to VT, already booked. It looks like the daughter will join us early but needs to fly back on Tuesday for classes she must attend.

Yesterday's rain never happened. Last night's rain never happened and it is now overcast at 10:30 am in the Valley, no rain yet. Weather radar shows a slow line of showers advancing from the southwest and flash flood warnings are posted for counties to the west but not for Tucker. Chance of scattered showers is 50%. The local TV stations say tomorrow should be partly sunny with a chance of isolated showers so take from that what you will.

I'm sorry to be missing you folks but sentiment is in favor of returning home.

Thanks for the update LHC. Have fun up north in April. I think you nursed the best out of the tail end of our local ski season leaving us with slushy seconds and green beer.

I saw you on the slopes with the green hair looking down as I rode the chairlift! Fairly tall, young guy, otherwise brown hair? Did you make any DCSkier connections out there? I took a bunch of random pictures over the weekend which I have yet to review since I also skied Sunday and got home late. Will check tonight to see if I got a photo of you or your gang and hope to post some of the other friends out there. It was a fun weekend. This year any spring skiing is good spring skiing.

Does anyone know how the kid is that fell off the lift? He was flown out by helicopter shortly after lunch.

and the seven folks that got hurt at wisp coming down on some sort of cardboard sled..2 or three bad enough to be airlifted out..
