Colorado in the Spring, 2012
April 2, 2012
Charles and I are on a family vacation, and we will try to send short updates each day.
We flew in on March 26, in the midst of ferocious wind storms. I was terrified on the plane. The gusts of 70 mph fanned massive wild fires, and billowing smoke could be seen from Denver. The good people of Colorado do not deserve this!
Tuesday was a warm, sunny day. We paid a visit to the modern offices of Colorado Ski Country, USA, which represents 22 Colorado Ski areas. Then we met with a dynamic publicist and writer, Eliza Cross.
We are off to the mountains Wednesday, wildfires permitting. Hope we can find some snow!
It is Wednesday, March 28 and we have made it to Vail. We are in a magnificent, incredible condo called The Antlers. Two Master bedrooms, 4 smaller beds, and enough room to work and play. Totally modern, and an easy walk to Lionshead. We are 4 people, 4 computers, and a big dog.
It is hot and sunny and the slopes look well groomed. We will hit them tomorrow!
Connie, hope you had a good day out there today. Let us know.
We had a glorius 3 days of skiing at Vail and Beaver Creek. We sent articles to Scott - keeep an eye out. Connie and Charles
I just got back from there. Skied Loveland, A-Basin, and Eldora. Good spring skiing and very warm, especially Sunday at Eldora.
The beach at A-Basin was something I'd never seen before, pretty cool.
