need 100 cm skis
November 3, 2012
I'm hoping to pick up a lightly-used pair of 100 cm skis with bindings for a 7 year-old nephew. The thing is, I think my best bet would be at the Ski Center swap, but I'll be out of town on business that day.
Anyone know where to get a good deal? Is there a chance that someone who may be planning to go to the ski swap would be willing to act as a "buyer's agent"?
I think we'd like to keep it to $70 or less, if possible, but I don't even know if that's reasonable. Will a binding on that ski be likely to be adjustable?
(I'm waiting to find out how long his boot sole length is - he's getting new boots this year, so we may have to go by street shoe size for now - I should know that within a day or so)
^good cover prices but most of their gear tends to be *very* used.
Scooter,
What size boots are you looking for? I have lots of little kids boots I need to get rid of.
Thanks for the suggestion fish, I figured there had to be something like that out there. I wonder how a "3" rated ski actually looks?
SCWVA, the nephew in question is actually in the Czech Republic, so I have limited access to getting these sorts of things figured out. I think his parents are planning to give him boots as a present, and then we'll give him the skis. I'll find out what size he takes, though, and if it's a match, I bet they'd be happy to take some off your hands...
Maybe we can work something out?
I'll make one last plea... If anyone spots a pair of 100 cm skis (boots are 20.5 mondopoint), with bindings, for $100 or less at Ski Center tomorrow, I can paypal money by the end of the day, and we can figure out how to make a swap.
I'll spend most of tomorrow on a plane, but would be at the swap if I were in town...
Got 'em! Found a great pair at Alpine's ski swap. I actually managed to catch them on their way in. They never made it to the racks...
