That's what an email from Liberty Mountain asked today.

"Meteorologists up and down the east coast are starting to talk...and there are rumblings about a possible monster storm towards the beginning of next week. The current projections show a combination of Tropical Storm Sandy merging with a large blast of very cold arctic air. Exactly where the two collide will go a long way in determining if we see snow, rain, or lots of cold weather. Although it's nearly a week from now we are keeping a close eye on it. Maybe we'll get some snow and be able to make some turns in October!"

It seems hard to believe. I am using my "use it or lose it" leave this week. I think I'll ride down to Mt. Vernon on my bike tomorrow. The temperature should be around 80.

Anything could happen.

Just got home from work and cked out this morns GFS model run and it was amazing to see the possible scenario of a Hurricane coming up the coast and instead of curving NE and out to the Ocean it gets sucked back into New England by a cold front/ridge/trough....and then just hangs around for awhile till it starts to fall apart...Whew..long sentence..

During this process I counted 126 hours of potential snow for the West Virginia Alpps...thats over 5 days!

Could disapear on the next run...or maybe it wont!..always fun to watch..

The folks at wxrisk.com are saying there is a chance for this to be a MAJOR snow event.

I don't know how credible they are.

Here's an example:
