I'm seeing a shift to warmer weather through the next few weeks. I'm wondering if anyone else is reading the same. That would surely dash the hopes of an earlier than normal opening sans Snowshoe from that list.

Here's hoping the end of oct > mid Nov arent inverse to Dec in temps. I'd love to see a season that we get 3-4" of fresh snow every few days which is what I thought it was going to be like this year.

I'm only looking at the 10 day pattern and it seems seasonable, not warmer than normal. Remember, it's been pretty much colder than average for about 6 weeks now. Thanksgiving is very early this year; this is still mid-November not end of November.

According to Chris Bailey's weather blog, the models are indicating the weather to turn colder after the Thanksgiving weekend.

Wisp says Friday, November 23, weather permitting, but the forecasts don't look good for snowmaking until after that.

Snowshoe's website says they are planning on opening on Wednesday am.

"We will be opening for the 2012-2013 season Wednesday, November 21st. Now that is something to be thankful for! Not only will we be opening on the earliest date of the last 10 years, we'll be opening both Snowshoe Basin & Silver Creek areas.

Join us for a FREE pancake breakfast at the Junction on Wednesday morning from 8-9am. We'll also be tossing out some cool prizes at rope drop. Get fueled up and then get in your first turns of the season!

Snowshoe will be open from 9:00 am - 4:30 pm with at least two top to bottom runs and Ballhooter, Powder Monkey and Skidder lifts spinning. Silver Creek will be open from 2:00pm - 9:00pm with at least one top to bottom run serviced by Mountaineer Lift. There will also be some features available from our Mountaineer Parks crew."

What I find odd is that there aren't any pictures of them making snow nor could I find their snow/trail report for tomorrow. Maybe their doing it through their FB page. confused

They seem to rely on FB more than their website

Here's a video they posted yesterday. Video

They also posted several pics.

Here's a few.
