Just got word from a friend who works at 7springs. They are likely to announce Thursday morning that due to poor weather conditions, 7 springs will not be open this weekend for skiing (which doesnt surprise me considering they lost 50% of their snow already).

On top of this, the talk is that they likely will NOT reopen until the weekend after that, and are targeting the 15th. The second part sounded more like a rumor so...

Does not bother me, as I am out of action until at least Feb. Bring on a late season!

It freakin poured down rain last night up here in the Pittsburgh area. I looked at both HV and 7S webcams this AM and it looks like very late spring .... say late April.

Damn it ... unlike GG, I am free every weekend until Jan 5.

I may have to road trip down to Snowshoe this weekend if the forecasted rain holds off.

The Halloween storm was a early season JINX!

What will likely happen is I will grab my tool bag and start demoing a bathroom, only to have it snow like crazy for the weeks that I am NOT off , which means that my bathroom wont be completed until early summer and my wife being angry that she has to use the main bathroom.

Just saying - if they would LET IT SNOW then I would be in a happier place.

I was never meant to be on the east coast with all these snow haters. I need to be at around 8k elevation watching snow fall almost constantly throughout the winter. I miss the snow. I didnt get to see any fall last year, and so far this year I only woke up to a slight dusting and am only 45 minutes from 7springs.

In a desperate attempt to rescue the season 7 springs was blowing snow on their trails and wagner apparently last night and this morning. Much of the damage to the areas from warm water pouring through they are leaving just blown on snow to cool it down then later tonight plan on pushing snow over those spots in hopes of opening

wagner, phillips, fawn, whatever that run is down to wagner, and that snowboard park.

Hidden valley will likely be open this weekend however not on Friday. They will run continental, rambler and that bunny slope.

Next weekend isnt much better if not worse. The weekend after there is some signs of hope that they MAY be able to reopen what they had open last week, and then the weekend after that they MIGHT be ale to open a few more trails/slopes.

I'm going to snowshoe the week of the 15th for a day or two. Probably a day only.
