I'm looking for recommendations on where I can stay where I can have a private hot tub for me and my girlfriend. The place only needs to sleep 2, and I'm not looking for anything too fancy.

The closer to the mountain the better, but it seems having a private hot tub and being close to the resort are virtually impossible!

Any recommendations on neighborhoods, etc. that you know where they have private hot tubs would be great.

Most of what I have found are cabins a few miles away. Some are affordable, others aren't.

The pink towels and statuary really add to the atmosphere.

Looks like one of those old Pocono Honey Moon suites.

I found two, but since the only person in the tub is not a DCSki poster, I will refrain from posting.

The reason why it appears people are poking fun at your request. It's simple. Your question was akin to asking , why can't I have a BMW with RED leather seats and a BOSE 10 speaker system , nothing fancy only a 5 series - for $300 a month?

The Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus baths you are seeking, are usually in more high end places because they have the room and adding a $10k hot tub into a 350k place seems fitting, but not for a 50k place. Ok so lets say what about a 100k place. Maybe...

But lets consider something here.

The cost to run a hot tub and keep it warm enough to ramp up to an acceptable level quick enough once you get there, isn't super cheap.
Chemicals. Not super cheap.
not expensive but, not cheap.

The biggest thing is, having someone onsite that can keep it clean, drain it once a month (ugh where to in a condo?!) and refill/treat. And to make sure it's treated and clean!!!! Otherwise people get sick, real sick - insurance risk. Risk losing your place because some kids got REAL sick even though you CLEARLY list in teh contract that NO KIDS OR PETS (or animals of anykind) should be allowed in the hot tub..

Hot tubs are a luxury that you will likely not see very easily for that reason.

It has to be a property that someone can visit to ensure it's being managed correctly or they have to pay a company.

All that, and no one else really does it so - why put themselves through the pain?

Also - alot of people probably buy their place without the hottub initially. Planning to put one in as money comes in. Rentals dont do so great as people would think. Most poeple I would think are losing money even with 3 months of great renting. MAYBE they break even. So they probably opt to not put the hot tub in, especially after they have driven to the place about 20 times and get sick of it.

Lots involved here.
Try taking a hot shower and bring a electric blanket.

A niacin rush from niacin will surely make one feel like they are in a hot tub. (dont do this!!)

MRSA in the hot tub? Maybe.

More likely? How about a little Hot Tub Folliculitis to ruin your ski trip?

Eeek!
