It is with a heavy heart I share these pics.

I manned up Thu night and took a solo mission to Snowshoe. Arrived at 11 PM with about 15 cars in Mtn Lodge parking lot. Crashed out and groomer was my alarm clock.

I was having a blast all day. Conditions were great, slopes were almost empty .... then I came in around 4 PM and saw the news and my heart dropped 4800'.

All I could do after the news was knock down a couple beers and take a few quick evening runs.

I went back to the condo, polished off a bunch of beer, watched Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, called my kids and went to bed sad and drunk.

Enjoy the pics and keep the faith. Not everyone in the world is as F'ed up as that dude in CT.

Groomers woke me up

I ran and grabbed a ticket

I was the first person at Ballhooter rope drop

The sun was shining all day

Finally someone else showed up.

I basically did laps up and down the blues nears Ballhooter. The slopes were empty at 9 AM. Here are several shots.

I stopped at the Boathouse for lunch. 14 bucks for a ch burger, fries and a beer. line was not too bad at Ballhooter around noon and the lake is not froze over.

I took a few night pics that look like crap so i did not bother to load them. The SC slopes were in nice shape and there were a few more peeps over there at night.

Enjoy your weekend guys and gals.

I've been here at Snowshoe for two weeks, this weekend with family. And yesterday it was a sad day for me, being both from Connecticut and as well, from the town bordering Newtown CT. My eight-year old niece's school and the entire school systems were on lockdown, needless to say the entire family was in a tizzy. Still, Seymour and Naugatuck, where my family lives, did a heck of a lot better than Newtown. As I gazed at the gorgeous sunset we had at Snowshoe last night, I couldn't help but to ponder on what makes some derranged person open fire on innocent kids...

Ya Lou, I can relate.

I grew up in Wolcott, just down the road. My Mom unretired this past year for one year, and teaches in the town next to Newtown, Southbury/Middlebury. She was in lockdown.

My youngest niece goes to Watertown. She was also in lockdown for a bit.

My oldest niece works with people who worked with the slain principal. She was very popular and very well respected.

Crazy times. Prayers go out to the families in Newtown. That has to be really tough.
