Snowshoe Trail Closings

Was up at the Shoe earlier this year and had a great time. Heading back up again soon and can't help but notice that some trails (Bear Claw at Silver Creek; JHook, Moonshine, etc. on the Basin side) seem to be permaclosed.

Anyone have some insight as to why this is?

BTW, this reminds me of the old half-pipe that was forever listed as "closed" on the snow-report for a number of years until mgt. finally decided to do away with it.

This morning's trail report indicated .... "The snow making team has been out working their magic and are building up Moonshine, Camp 4 and Lower Shay's Revenge.

No mention of the others.
