Canaan Valley Ski Rental Recommendations
February 8, 2013
My wife and I are heading to the Valley this weekend, my wife will need to rent skis, am I incorrect in remembering that the rentals at T-line are significantly abused? I have never had to rent, so any recommendations for alternative places to rent skis in Canaan Valley would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance.
The Ski Barn on Route 32 is one option for alpine gear. Or do a multi-day rental from a shop in the DC area before heading out (maybe better selection but a bit riskier if something goes wrong.)
Ski Barn is a good place rent from. Never had any problems renting for family and friends.
And yes, you did hear right. Under no circumstance should ANY person ski on 90% of the crap that Timberline rents out.
Might want to call ahead and reserve what you think you need,
Other DCSkiers with Ski Barn experience chime in.

I rented from the Ski Barn two years ago for a weekend with my wife and another couple before we bought our own gear. Things went quickly, pick up and drop off was painless, their gear seemed decent as rental gear goes. Their prices were cheaper than Timberline or Canaan Valley's rentals and we planned to ski one day at each so it eliminated the hassle of getting sized two different times. We got the basic package however they had a "performance" package you could get for a little more (like 10 bucks a day) for better skis.
