Wish I would have posted this earlier but wasn't confident in f-cast but it is looking good with maybe a little snow fri to set the mood and then keep your fingers crossed for another clipper type later on Saturday.
This week leading up isnt too shabby either with some decent march weather...nothing too extreme with rain mon night to some snow and cooler temps...

Anything but rain next weekend.. right?..stay tuned!

Right.

But after all the snow this year, I wouldn't mind 40 and sunny for Snowy Luau.

Was talking this past week; been a while since T-Line had a snowy Snowy Luau.

Usually the Saturday of Luau has almost always been either sunny or snow. the second day or luau Sunday has been different. I can remember rain, wind, or just nasty about a third of the time. Who all is planning on being there?

Right now, current forecast for this weekend is partly sunny, with highs 41-42. Perfect spring skiing weather for me!

new forecast: http://opensnow.com/dailysnow/midatlantic

Should be absolutely amazing next weekend. Skiing at T-Line was unreal Saturday morning. Trees between the Drop and OTW was absolute heaven, best skiing I have had on the east coast in years.

Whitegrass should have no issue with 100% coverage for the higher elevations next weekend. Crazy for mid march.

Question - (know this is off topic) - when will T-Line close? This year they should have no problem stretching into April.

Sooo word is that there are still a few spots left for Saturday's Torch Light Parade. Looking for a few skiers who can ski White Lightning in a wedge, in the dark, know up from down and carry an incendiary on a piece of bamboo. Must be sober enough to load the chairlift, but have lots of pockets in your coat to carry inebrients for the ride up.

or for more details you should call Timberline Snowsports School at 304-866-6332.

Why would you want to carry an incendiary device on a bamboo pole and ski down White Lightning in a wedge when you can sit on the deck with a pocket full of inebrients to consume while you watch the torch parade?

I'm planning on coming up Saturday afternoon after skiing some at Snowshoe. I'm not sure if I'll do any skiing at the Luau Saturday, but definitely plan on doing some skiing Sunday.

Because you can?

I think most people do it so they can be an important part of THE GREATEST, most funnest ski party tradition in the Mid Atlantic, The Snowy Luau Torchlight Parade and Fireworks Extravaganja.

PSA: believe Canaan Valley lodge just put up cheap rates for rooms this weekend. http://www.canaanresort.com/winter/accomodations/lodging-specials/

Also, don't forget Vic's Timberline discount coupon thread: http://www.dcski.com/ubbthreads33/ubbthr...=true#Post70637

Canaan lodging sale is for Lodge rooms only, at this time. Cabins are not on sale for Luau weekend. Always can change so keep in touch with Canaan Valley Resort website.
My son and I will be at Snowy Luau!

I'm kinda with Charlie on this one... Although in my younger years, I was game to do this.

About the question about closing date.... the published date is the 31st... however, there's talk about it making it later. One can only hope. Unlike last year, there will be adequate snow. Don't even have to groom it. We have poached much worse in the past. Including the previous weekend, about 40" of fresh during an eight day period.

Tossing out at least one meeting time/location for Sat/Sun as 10 AM near the ski school meeting area (uphill side of the orange temp fence.) It's adjacent to the base of the Silver Queen lift (far looker's left lift that goes up White Lightning.)

Any ski instructors who don't have 10 AM lessons would be able to join us.

Maybe also a 9 AM meeting?

Undoing is not possible at T-Line. You need to hope for some T-Line randomness...
