Went up to Timberline last minute on Friday and was glad I did. It's been a while since I have seen this much snow on the mountain late in March. Saturday was my favorite day of the season at Timberline: a blue bird--cold but sunny and comfortable. It was one of those days where you want to start skiing at 9 am and not stop until dark.

Everything was open. Snow was excellent for much of the day with Spring conditions only apparent late in the day on Twister. An injury kept me on the groomers but people I spoke with on the lift raved about the woods--soft on top with a hard crust just below the surface, enough of a crust to keep you from bottoming out.

Really loved Off The Wall, and would have spent the day working on bumps, but again, the injury kept me skiing conservatively.

Did not see JohnL. Thought I saw Tucker carving with the board. Everyone was all smiles... Great times had by all. Thank you Timberline!

Sunday was a gray bird but the groomers still skiied well. Left early to beat the storm back to DC.
