Im hearing rumors that 7Springs is going to close after April 7th. Unfortunately, we are expected to get several 60 degree adn sunny days. That will NUKE the snow..however, I would think what they have will make it so they could actually stay open until Mid April...

I do not recall, have the resorts shut down with snow on the mountains?

7S last year at this time, had only tiny slivers of snow completing two islands of snow....ski patrol shoveling snow during the session to keep the runs open. Creeks flowing through runs and close to 80! degrees out. Yet they still pushed it until that last day late March

This is the mid-Atlantic. April skiing is very, very rare. All it takes is a "couple of 60 degree days and most all the population gets Spring fever and forgets, in fact does not want to ski on sloppy slopes. Be thankful for the March and winter we have had and let it go. They are not going to stay open if they cannot make money by doing so. It takes a lot of folks to run open ski slopes, lifts, schools, first aid, food outlets, etc. And after next weekend, all the schools will be back in session.
Let it go!!!!!

Hidden Valley stayed open one year to April 15 or something like that. I was skiing with the Snow Patrol...no other skiers on the mountain. Yes folks stop coming when the daffodils bloom in their yards. I am actually surprised at how well populated the slopes look on the snow cams of late. A good sign.

We hit 7S yesterday. Conditions were fantastic. It snowed ALL day up there.

Here is a pic I took at 9 AM

It has snowed everyday this week in western PA. There is at least a foot of natural snow in the woods.

IMO, this has been a remarkable season. I'm hoping to make one final trip to Snowshoe next weekend to close out the season.

If you are going to be rude and judgmental, then give me a moment into your soul so I can pick it apart?

It's a valid question. 7Springs stayed open with barely any snow left. Literally, I was shoveling snow with the ski patrol to keep slopes open while, this year they are completely covered in snow, and are talking about making next week the final week.

With that said, it was more

I visited HV today for grins. It was horrible. So slow you could barely move. People were falling and sinking 2' into old soft powder. Very odd. I'm hoping things pack out a bit.

OH and they were PACKED! For HV that is. Hardly a packing spot left.

Yes the horror of sinking into 2' of old soft powder must have been truly trumatic. I only wish I could have been there to experience the horror. cry

Yes, Dave, nothing worse than having the condition known as "powder teeth". The return of that good ole' corn snow and hard pack will be a welcome relief. crazy
