Monarch and the other participating areas are offering the pass again this year.

It provides 1 to 3 free days of skiing (in a few cases more) at 30 different areas in Austria, France, Canada and the US. US Areas range from North Carolina to California, and from New Mexico to Wyoming.

Price, thru 11/9/13 appears to be $429 for those aged between 16 and 61, $279 for those 62 and older and lesser amounts for those 15 and under.

If you like skiing lots of places (including some pretty good ones - Alta, Copper, Durango, Grand Targhee, Red Mountain, Sierra at Tahoe, Silverton) this is a pretty good deal - especially for those aged 62+.

I had the Monarch pass in the 11-12 season. Skied at Loveland, Sunlight, and Alta in addition to monarch. It was a bad snow year in CO, so the Alta deal saved the value of my pass. I did get one powder day at Monarch, a place with a great vibe that skis much bigger than its stats. I had met a couple of Germans on the lift who had bought the One Planet pass to ski the German partner areas and were there out of curiosity. They were very happy with what they'd found.
