From the Whitegrass web page today. http://www.whitegrass.com/report.html
dont know how to make the picture show up.
The depth was about 2" of light dry fluff over unfrozen grass and dirt. It was more of a clutch and grab than a glide. My newly waxed bases were about 1/3 covered with dirty ice upon reaching the bottom. But it was skiing. Great to get back on skis and snow and better with old friends to share it. This years ski drought lasted from May 28 (Mt. Washington) to Nov. 13, average year. I like to keep it under 6 months.
Here ya go! Awesome!
If it is not too much trouble, how do I post a picture?
Denis - In the top tool bar of these text boxes, there is an icon just right of the flag that looks like 2 mountains and the sun. If you hover your mouse pointer over it, "image" should show on your screen.
Click that image icon, and a pop up box will open, paste that url you posted above of the pic in the section that says url then click OK.
That's it!
A bit complicated, eh.
Glad you got out Denis!

I'm not at all surprised you got out there. I am surprised that 2 inches of snow on unfrozen ground would actually allow one to slide at all.

Those skis look like they'd be pretty fun, especially for a backcountry newb like myself. I'm guessing Chip makes them look more graceful than any of the folks in the videos...
