I'm located in Norfolk, VA and in the market for a new pair of ski boots. I'm willing to travel to see a good boot fitter as my last pair of ski boots gave me some serious black toe. After searching through the forum here, I saw a few recommendations but the posts were 5-10 years old. Does anyone have any recent experience with the following shops or could recommend another? Thanks for the help!
Brian Deely @ Pro-Fit Ski & Mountainsports in Leesburg, VA
Brian Eardley @ Ski Center, Washington DC
I can vouch for Brian Eardley and Ski Center which has many excellent staff with many years of experience. They have been my shop for 30 years. I have no experience with Brian Deely but have heard good things. Also important in my opinion is to call and make an appointment for a non busy time, say a Tues afternoon.
Phil at Start Haus in Truckee, CA is the bomb. Kind of a long trip, but there's good skiing in the area...so I hear. ;););)

Have seen many recommendations for the Brians.
Freestyle in Charlottesville handles all aspects of boot fitting. Freestyle has a shop at Wintergreen. I only learned about them last season at the demo tent they had set up at Massanutten. I talked with Dan Cochrane. He seemed pretty knowledgeable. I was most interested to learn that they handle Intuition liners. As with any good boot fitter, setting up an appointment is important.
Checked with a friend in northern VA. She's been working with Brian Deely and is quite happy.

Brian Beaumont of Ski Center has fit my boots, so I'll also recommend him.
Denis is spot on (what I bolded.) Mid-week to get full attention. Weekends in December are too busy for any ski shop.
I would recommend Dave at the south hills willies in pittsburgh
Mike at Hidden Valley, sw PA. Bit of a drive......time it w a trip to HV & 7S.
Won`t regret it.
Just wanted to leave some feedback for anyone looking to invest in a new pair of boots. I worked with Brian Eardley at Ski Center DC. I called ahead to set up an appointment with him on a Wed morning. The process took about 3 hours or so. I was very impressed with the Brian's knowledge and attention to detail. I ended up going with a Salomon Profit 100 boot with custom footbeds and some adjustments for my high instep.
I just returned from a week of skiing Summit County (Breckenridge, A-basin, Vail) and was thoroughly impressed with the fit and performance of the boots. Once again, I cannot recommend Brian & Ski Center highly enough.
