I have some flexibility about when I go to Snowshoe, and I like to avoid peak crowds. Obviously, MLK weekend and President's weekend are to be avoided, but I am trying to complile a list of other peak crowd weekends to avoid. For example, I was talking to an acquaintance who owns a condo, and they said the weekend of Jan. 24th is the weekend that all the Washington DC schools visit Snowshoe, so that would be a weekend I would like to avoid. That said, I called Snowshoe and it appears the Washington DC school weekend is actually Jan. 30th (mabybe?).
So, what weekends are to be avoided due to Holidays, events, school outings, etc.., if I am trying to avoid large ski crowds? Thanks.
Jan 30 & 31 are winter holidays for the large Fairfax County, VA public school system. I don't get out to Snowshoe very often, but any weekend after February President's Weekend should be good. Last time I was there was in early March and had a great time with great conditions.

I agree, March is a great time to go, although you wil see more College kids on Spring break during this time. If you can go during the week anytime, you're not going to have many crowds. I think my kids in Loudoun County are off Monday Jan 27, FYI. Not as big a school system as FFx CO
Early January between Xmas/New Years and MLK weekend is usually uncrowded at most ski areas - won't help for this year. You'll get a few college kids on winter break, but you'll likely get the same in March on spring break.
