I'm just going to miss you, as I fly bag from Utah on the 8th. Doing the Epicski gathering up there.

it definily helped that my CEO's kid just started skiing @ Bryce this season and loves it - so she gets it now. so just get your boss into skiing, be willing to not get full pay for two+ months, and alienate your poor old 80+ year old mother and you'll be all set!
I'll just miss you on the front end.
If Cali drought remains in affect, may catch you in late March/early April in Utah. If so, mostly Da Bird for me to recoup my Mountain Collective Pass spendings.
Email/phone still the same? Eventually need to talk to you about some work/ski strategies.
re: my contact info - same bat-time, same bat-channel! I did a trade with a guy that has properties in Heavenly and Incline Village and just locked in our dates Mar. 20-25 so maybe see you in cali there with a side-trip. or 'bird lol.

I am the boss! :) but I can't get away for more than a week at a time due to the nature of my work. We take advantage of those weeks the best we can though!
then your boss sucks - remind your boss that you'll be dead someday and you'll have to do iwhat you need to do now because later will be too late. remind him a lot of people say "later -later" but when that days comes time has passed by and you didn't even take up on it when it was right in front of you.
my boss said "... I'm glad to be able to give you this opportunity, because we all say we can do things later, but especially in skiing, latter is too late. "
your boss needs to understand that money buys you security, but risk is always the price to pay for opportunity.
i had the good fortune to have a visit from my old race coach; he stated he felt sorry for ruining all of his students' lives by hooking them on skiing. He enumerated how Harold got too wrapped up in racing ... got too deveoted and lost his family and job, how Burgess got too hot for skiing too and lost his money buying a home in a failed ski resort so he could ski all the time - and then he came to me.
I told him thanks - take me off the list. You save me.

The Colonel is going to be out there at the end of Feb and will probably want to challenge you to a Chinese Downhill. But you have to give him a handicap because otherwise... he will blow you away:-)
Have fun. Much envy.
I expect to be in Tahoe in mid to late march. I picked it because my daughter and family moved to the east bay last year and have their season pass at Kirkwood. So I also got a pass there and another at Sierra at Tahoe, which is only $99 unrestricted for age 70+. Now, I just need some snow. Saw on the weather channel that squaw is at 7% of normal snowpack and the blocking ridge keeping storms away from CA shows no signs of weakening. There is more to this story; it's complicated, but it can wait until later. I'll send out a shout for company when I get to Tahoe.
count on it - i think that ridge will break in about 3 weeks - yeah right now it's pretty bad but i'm thinging that will turn around BIG TIME - yay!

Good insight. The kids kind of make it hard to drop everything and go across the country too. But I wouldn't trade my profession and my kids for living full time in a pad in Aspen, I've got it pretty good :) We get out pretty often, and it's a joy to see them getting hooked on skiing too.
