Anyone know why the Silver Creek slopes at Snowshoe are now not open until noon? Looking for facts vice speculation!

NOTE: M - F only, 9 - 9 on Sat + Sun
Here is SS's stmt from their Facebook page.
Beginning Monday, January 27th through the end of the season, Silver Creek will be open from 12pm to 9pm, Monday through Friday and remain open from 9am to 9pm on Saturday and Sunday. Enjoy a leisurely morning before making laps at the Creek or take the opportunity to experience the freshest powder twice, with first tracks at Snowshoe, then again at Silver Creek.
If you have any questions regarding the change in lift hours of operation please leave your comments below or email info@snowshoemountain.com.
And their reply to numerous complaints:
The change in hours at Silver Creek area will allow us to continue to provide excellent conditions with additional hours for snowmaking. Our on the snow team is dedicated to providing the best product in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast.
There seems to be a lot of pissed off peeps regarding this. I think if I owned or rented at SC I'd be pissed too.
I feel like snowshoe may be punishing the home owners association at Silver Creek because they decided to charge for parking. Taking the bus takes maybe 5 minutes. It really isn't that bad.
I would guess it's to lower staff costs; they mentioned snowmaking, I guess they could employ fewer snowcat drivers, and certainly lessen the hours for the lifties. I'd be upset if I owned or rented at SC too.
I skied Snowshoe all day Friday. Damn place was packed. I'm told kids in VA and WV did not have school Thu and Fri. All the basin lifts were packed by 10 AM. I went over to Cupp and skied there until around 11:30. Lower Shays is half bumps and 1/2 grooomed.
I decided to try Silver Creek since it opened at noon. I got first chair on the Cascade lift. Awesome conditions at SC. I never waited for a lift. I stayed there until around 2 PM and ran all the blues and blacks over there a few times.
Only drawback was the lifts at SC literally stopped 1-2 times EVERY time I rode them. I think it had to do with loading and unloading a lot of kids.
Went back to Cupp around 2, did some laps then headed to Ballhooter around 3. Total mess. Massive lines that looked like Sat afternoon. Decided to get a beer, and call it a day.
Today s/b interesting. Bluebird and high 40's. looks like SC will be in my plans this afternoon.
