I noticed big piles of debris in the woods to the right of the lifts heading up next to squirel cage.  It definitely looks like they have been doing some clearing in that area.  Has anybody else noticed this?  Will it become an "official" area to ski?

I was in there about a month ago while at Wisp. Nicely spaced trees and relatively free of debris as well. Not that steep though. I noticed the trees there for the first time on that trip. Not sure if they've been there all along and I've never paid attention or if I'm just starting to look harder.

Last year there were several skier deaths at Wisp, one of which had to do with trailside trees.  Maybe that is related to the thinning out of trees, maybe not.

Wisp had glade clearing weekends last fall or late summer.  For each day you worked, you got a free lift ticket.  It looks like they didn't get very many people to help, as they only cleared the upper about 200-300' of vertical, just another 300' to go.

Pretty sure Wisp made some kind of announcement on those new glades to the lookers right of Sq. Cage chair in the last year and we talked about them here in this forum and how they might be pretty steep at least in parts.
