Anyone storm chasing on Thursday or Friday? If so, where are you going to ride/ski?
Massanutten Friday AM. I am driving from charlottesville, so I just need to decide if I will take US 29 to RT 33 over the blue ridge parkway or if I will go the longer way around (interstates 64 and 81 to rt 33 in harrisonburg)
Not storm chasing but looking for good turns so going to my home mountain at t-line where is should be very good all weekend. Hope to get there by noon, Friday. If I get the predicted 12 to 18 of heavy wet, it'll take me a few hours to push out my 1/5th of a mile driveway.
I already have plans for Blue Knob on Sunday. Wisp may be an option for Friday.
Where would you ski or ride? Mnut with 12-14" of new snow or the Valley with 8" of new snow?

Terrain in the Valley >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Mass of Nothing. So that's an easy call.
But I'm still not sold on the Valley getting 8".
Only powder left on Friday will be in the trees, if doable at your resort of choice. Unless for some reason a resort can't open on Thursday.
Personally, I think driving is the most important part of the equation. Roads will likely be a mess unless you drive out and get there by early evening tonite. I'm not ruling out Liberty or Rountop.
Heading to Whitetail tonight for a clinic and then tomorrow afternoon sometime to catch some fresh pow.. hopefully there will still be some fresh lines but doubtful..
If the USG calls off tomorrow, I'm quickly running up to Whitetail. I already have plans to go to Wisp over the long holiday weekend.
I can't wait!!!
Just XC skiing on a golf course around here; I always get a kick out of it. The Olympics have inspired me to get out there this storm since I can't make it to a resort.

A lot more fun to be had at Mnut than Liberty or Roundtop. Just saying . . .
We are heading out soon. We have 14" here in Westminster as of 6:00am.
Headlamp XC Skiing at Cooper's Rock State Forest this evening after I get off work.
Whitetail tomorrow am. They are claiming 14" and counting! As of now they have left fanciful and a few others ungroomed, hopefully they will leave some untouched overnight.
