Curious if any region got an unexpected bonus.
For Timberline, it was at the very low end of forecasts I saw. I'd estimate about 4-5 inches. It rained Sunday afternoon and was misting/light rain until 10-12 PM. So, the surface froze solid and the new snow fell on top. Skiing on Monday, you hit (firm) bottom on a large percentage of turns. So, it was a nice, but not epic day. (Very glad we did get the new snow, otherwise it would have been a tilted ice skating rink.)
About the same for Wintergreen - 4 inches or so. The groomed surfaces were nice. The couple ungroomed runs were as you describe - a few turns through deeper snow, then an icy surface underneath. Still fun and a nice challenge and a good opportunity to teach wgo jr that it's not always 42 degrees and corn.
7 springs got about 5". Both Sunday afternoon and Monday were quite enjoyable. I think that was the least ice I have ever seen there. Not the 12" of snow they were calling for but still nice. The north face was very nice especially the trails by Gunnar.
On a side note it has been 5 years since I have been there and I have never had the luck to ski there during the week. What a huge difference, it makes hitting midweek, definitely something I would do again. And I'm not usually a huge terrain park guy, but the streets park is pretty neat, especially seeing you can watch people from the polar express lift.
Now if only those Gunnar trails were open past 4:30...
The Massanutten website said they got 6 inches. Hoping conditions will be nice this weekend because my newbie friends will be going again.

Yeah the snow was nice and light powder but, not the big storm everyone was expecting :/ Looks like the weathermen messed up on this one
Heading to Massanutten tomorrow with some of the family. Will be my nephew's first time on skies. Should be a fun day with the new snow.

Driving up to Mnut on Saturday. Will do a little night skiing to check things out. Also skiing all day on Sunday.
