It seems that a big storm is heading this way. It's supposed to start raining tomorrow afternoon, change to snow  tomorrow night and continue snowing Sunday (and Monday and Tuesday). I'm hearing that a foot and a half is possible in Park County, but haven't heard the Summit County forecast.

Day 70, my last day, being a powder day.- life is good.

Well, a powder day it was!

Brecks snow report said zero inches. It's snow cam showed three inches. There was actually 6-8 inches at the top of the Peak 8 lifts. Temp was about 7 with a 30-35 mile an hour wind blowing the falling snow sideways. It was January at the end of April! What a nice way to finish the season.

For anyone heading this dicection this week, conditions should be superb at the two areas still open: Loveland and A-Basin.  It's supposed to snow every day thru Wednesday, and it won't be above freezing until Friday -- and that's in town. The ski areas won't be above freezing until  Saturday May 3. Loveland closes on the 4th. A-Basin stays open til -- ??? -- June or July

I won't be there. After skiing 18 consecutive days, I am burned out - good burned out, but burned out..

The hordes from the Mid Atlantic are about to take your place for some early May bashing at A-Basin. Glad you did your part.

Enjoy, John. Conditions are superb, and both Pali and Montezuma bowl should be open.
