I was wondering if one of you could help me find a back story on some abondoned cabins I discovered near snowshoe. The cabins can be found in the link below. https://www.google.com/maps/@38.4691314,-80.0299124,234m/data=!3m1!1e3 . The cross road in Mindo Flats Rd and 219.
Some friends and I stayed in the large house to the right of 219 known as the Mingo Manor. Behind the house there was a dirt road that my brother and I went down to see where it went. Arund a mile back we found a bunch of one room dirt floor cabins, and some old foundations to cabins that no longer existed. While exploring them it looked like some ski bums had taken up residence in them in the last few years (we found magazines from 2012 in one). The living conditions were pretty much deplorable. Some of the cabins just had a toilet sitting in the corner, that I assume emptied into the pond seen on the google search above.
We found this hanging in one of them. So I know a kinky Steelers fan must have been residing there at one point.
The area was only accessible via a 4x4.
I'm really not sure what I am looking for here. I have done a bunch of google searches to see if anyone else had discovered them, but I came up with nothing. Abandoned places have always interested me. I figured someone here may know something about the small collection of cabins.
that is not good pub for west by god. worse than Justified for Kentucky.
